Im getting an orange peel look on cabinets... How much water can I add to SW Pro Classic Alkyd paint to thin it out? I am trying to use it in one of HVLP sprayers (Graco 7.0 Finish Pro.)
Latex plus hlvp is a disaster imo...unless u have a way sweeter rig than me...I say w latex use an airless pump with a smaller tip and low pressure. Im not a huge hvlp fan for anything with very much viscosity personally. Just my opinion

Though I prefer airless too, I have to say my capspray with a no. 5 set shoots pc latex pretty well. I use it when I just need to shoot a couple things where it's not worth the trouble to load up the airless.
My experience with shooting PC with HVLP was also a disaster. When finally thinned enough to shoot well it affected the levelers in the paint and the heat from the turbine dried the paint so it looked streaky. Went to airless no more problems.
I have to thin a little, but not much. What size tip did you use?
