I am with NEPS here.
I have 2,050 hrs booked for June, about 1,600 hrs for July and so on.
The requests keep coming,
I am still taking more for June, and July, even if my comfort level is tested
with more than 10 painters...

but ....read my signature

The economy has really slowed here in the south. Things seem to be REAL bad in the deep south. We are now down to the last two projects we planned since last year. The phone is not ringing. The local paint stores say they are lucky to cover their light bill.

There is very, very little new construction. The paint sales at the local stores are predominately to DIY'ers.

They say things take longer to reach the south. If your economy is rebounding, we have just arrived in the bottom of the slump.

My wife says I always worry over nothing. But, up until last September, we always had to turn work away, almost daily. I've bidded only two projects in May & June.

Things are gloomy here. Painters are going hungry. We are some of the lucky ones that still have some work.

Vancouver - hmmm not to sure
Interior (kelowna and surrounding area) - Some of you are stationed there. 2 or 3 of you guys maybe?

How are things there? how long are you guys booked for?

It's so different everywhere!!! At least up here in Canada it seems to be. Not sure about our partners to the south but I am interested in both.

Most of BC seems to be ok to good.
Alberta? not sure but i think Calgary still is going strong.
Saskatchewan - ha ha, I grew up there and moved from the frigid cold......and why it is super busy with construction.........I have no idea??

And east of that I have no idea either........Toronto probably busy.

So Northerners and Southerners please chime in. The verdict should be out now on how things are at the moment with summer just around the corner. Althou, poor weather has got me upset delaying exterior stuff. It's on then off........
Busy here in Mi.. Residential ,and multi-housing and a pepsi plant. As for Lead renovations we completed one a few days ago. Bid 7 in a week landed one . The cost is up there. On a 2200 SQ FT ext we spent $98 just in heavy mill sheeting..

Perhaps, but at least you get to paint exteriors year round.

Was slow until June hit. Now i'm running on all cylinders. Got a big warehouse job to quote that might take up to a month or more, and another commercial job for January. I'd like to say I was booked up to Jan, but I still have in-between time to fill up --- though i'm working on that and should have the rest of the year booked up by late July. That's the goal, anyhow

I am busier than expected!

I might have a large job I might be helping someone out with that will fill up my schedule for a while too

Far cry from where I thought I would be when I told my boss to go himself and I had no vehicle

Busy for now. Phone hasnt rang in over a week. But, I guess I'm pretty fortunate considering I am in a new town and a new state and I just started my business less than two months ago. Just did an exterior (very first job) and started an interior Monday. Have 3 more exteriors, and a deck. Nothing after that so far.

Busy, slow on the HO market but cooking on my GC work. The HO market has gotten so dam competitive. And I'm not getting any cheaper for sure. I have to laugh when they tell me the winning bidder's price. Crazy chit right now.

You are so right about the competition as some HO are getting three bids at a time..........very frustrating and how can you lower your prices when everything else is not going down but up...........
