Default Why would you use tablets instead of phones for the guys?

I’m headed towards automating with apps. Why would not I just get the guys iPhones being how I can add them to my plan for $10-$20 a month using AT&T ???

I’m tired of the guys having no memory in thier phones or being to broken to use t sheets ect.

Thank you in advance!!!

If their phones are broken, what are you gonna do when they break the expensive iPad you gave them? Id look into the insurance plans before I went too far down that road.

Im not sure how big your company is, but if mine was large enough Id give an iPad to each foreman and the crew could have access to it for things such as Tsheets.

Those iPads are tough. My nieces and nephews have them on thier bedroom floors ect and they don’t break. I would get a case for them but, I don’t see the reason why they can’t just look at a smaller screen.

One of my leads has a $50 smart phone that has no memory and another one has a broken screen on a smart phone ... Ive never had s tablet so, just wondering what’s the deal and why they are so useful.

Maybe basecamp is awesome on the big screen?? And t sheets?

If no one can answer I’m guessing that and nice smart phone should be good enough . Then I can call too and it’s a benefit

If the foreman is in charge of keeping hours, then maybe get him a cheap android unit that can run T-Sheets.

It's company property and he/she has to give it back upon leaving. Is the way I would put it.

An upgraded phone could also be used to facebook, etc. with friends/family on the jobsite. Something that isn't allowed. Wasting time.

We do a couple ipad mini's. $10 per month per tablet on Verizon. Really only use them much in the summer when we have a larger crew.

Pros: Tablet is cheaper than an iPhone and plan is cheaper, at least on our Verizon plan. Also, our idea was that the foremen use it for keep notes and project details which is easier with a larger screen.

No, we have been doing it for many years. Mainly just in the summer busy season with larger projects and crews. The iPads are available if they want them, but with fewer numbers, I do not worry as much about people punching in offsite.

There seems to be less errors in clocking in to fix when everyone uses an iPad at the job site vs. their own phones for some reason.

That’s really good input! Thank you!
