we WELCOME opinions,we encourage differing OPINIONS, but we also ask, expect, and enforce respect.

Have you read the rules of engagement?

and here's a good little read from Workaholic:

If you have a legitimate questions, the mods will be happy to clarify.

I understand where your original post was coming from. It wouldn't hurt the industry at all for a homeowner to get some straight talk from contractor's who care to share with others. I read the thread, and saw some honest, solid advice was given to the HO, if not sprinkled in between the bs comments and rude whatnot.
But as someone mentioned above, we have to keep this forum solely for contractors. If not, we would be invaded by every HO and DIY wanna-be wanting to pick the brain of a pro. It would get very old, very quick.
When the mods shut down a DIY question, the person is referred to our sister site, The DIYchatroom. Many pros (some from here) hang out over there and freely give the HO's advice. If you feel that open dialogue amongst contractors and clients/diy'ers is beneficial, feel free to take a look over there and join in.

You know this thread was started because someone inadvertantly stumbled into this forum with a question for pro painters which was equally ignored and ridiculed and has not yet been answered. Its now decended into picking at spellings because people are bored!!!! The disrespect has spread from the last thread to this one and frankly I'm disappointed!

It is what it is Mike. Look at my visitor page https://www.painttalk.com/members/sidinghell-6190/workaholic/ you see my conversation with Siding Hell? Essentially the same thing and handled the same way. This site is for people that work in the painting field. If that bothers you there are plenty of other sites where you can mix with other contractors and HO's.

Many of our members report these posts and they rely on these rules to be enforced because we deal with HO's everyday so when we come here many want to not be answering more HO questions.
