Big paint project, many delays, I end up hooking up the HO's with a GC because the one they hired didn't show up to start the job. The GC I got for them is doing the electrical, drywall, plumbing etc.
What a clusterfu** of a job. They have a young guy doing the drywall and he is lost. The lead guy tells me the "walls are ready for paint." I go over them and find at least 50 poorly done areas. (Not enough mud, divots, missed spots, burned through into the tape, etc.), but, hey, I've been through this stuff before and I simply fix the areas and get on to the painting. So I fix the problems and put the first coats of paint on. I come back the next evening and there's patched areas EVERYWHERE! I mean, my God, I repaired their mess, they saw the walls were painted and yet they proceeded to fix spots that didn't need fixing.
I'm almost at the end of my rope. HO's want to move in at the end of the month. If these guys keep repairing areas that don't need it, it's going to take me TWO months to finish the painting. End of rant. I want to let them "have it" but the drywall guy is a veteran with PTSD. He actually saw buddies of his get blown up by an IED that he says he should have seen and warned them.
