Default Elastomeric Roof Coatings - Green Roofing for Flat and Metal Roofs

Elastomeric Roof Coatings Are Substainable and Energy Star Rate
They're a cost saving alternative to flat black rubber roof replacement. They encapsulate your entire roof with a liquid rubber coating. They have incredible leak stopping power and flex when your roof needs it the most. Elastomeric roof coatings can be applied to flat rubber, modified bitumen, concrete, epdm, bur roofing, metal roofing and many other substrates.

Metal roofing substrates see an advantage with the coatings ability to stop screw leaks when applied properly. When applied by a certified installer you will see warranty options available for 10 or 15yrs. Elastomeric coatings play an important role with extending the service life of existing flat roofs and avoid costly tear offs.Certain situations allow for leed points and energy rebates from energy programs.

Elastomeric roof coating help the thermal shock value caused by extreme temperature rises during daytime highs. Reducing thermal shock adds to your roofs service life and it's ability to hasndle the movement caused by extreme temperatures. Energy star rated roof coatings are lightweight and seamless when finished. The coating systems when applied right, are a multiple step system that addresses seams, fastener attachments and flashings before any coating is ever applied.

Elastomeric roof coatings are seamless in nature. They offer warranty options from 10-20 years with qualified installers. White roof coatings reduce energy cost. They protect against U.V. damage & corrosion. Liquid roof coatings cost less than a tear off and complete re-roof. No company downtime during installation of flat rubber roof coatings.

it is roofers' work here....
Nowadays these green roofs they're installing on new work are really green. they put the membrane down and they put on top of it plants. Kinda like a sod. I see a lot of that going up.

Green roofing terminology applies to both cases. You can still be green with the coating method. I agree, the vegetation style roofing is a great concept, but with a much higher price tag.

We actually use Uni-flex. Being a Sherwin Williams fan it was an easy decision. I feel Uni-flex or KST Coatings (a spin off of Uni-flex) is backed by Sherwin Williams experience and reputation. So far so good. My only complaint about elastomerics is the color retention. Tinting of certain colors will have issues with UV fading.

I prefer metal roofing installation over other types of roofing installation. The reason being it is very convenient to maintain, it is long lasting and does not cost much here!

KST is the original company whom Sherwin Williams bought out. They have been around a long time then got absorbed by the machine. Have not applied too much colored roofs, a few thousand feet, not sure what long term color retention is. The color negates the cool roof effect though.

Taking an 8 hour drive to Midland Texas tomorrow for another roof. Here is one we completed yesterday. Just a baby over concrete.

Green roofs..!! Interesting. Green roofing is much in trend these days. This looks beautiful and moreover helps in increasing the natural beauty. This type of contribution to nature is praiseworthy. Installation and maintenance needs a lot of time to be devoted. Happy to see many people are interested in this. Thanks for this great thread.
