Default Aloha to the board from the day rate painter..

Aloha to the board from the day rate painter..

our professional painters are trained to have nascar speed through rigorous work habits and constant customer satisfaction are we able to keep working faster, harder and longer than other painters.
unlike many larger painting company's, this little painting business supports almost no overhead allowing us as a painting business to actually make money and offer our customers a great day rate.
there are many honed secrets which for years have been incorporated into all our jobs. we easily do the work of two or more painters in a day.
search for us on the web there is no telling just what you will see and hear about us..

I thought it was understood that a painter has to do the work of about 11 men to turn heads around here.

DPP,

I see your location is Honolulu and Houston, I assume that's because you worked "seasonally" in both places.

Do you find your overhead (insurance, workers comp, gasoline, labor, materials, etc) plus the cost of living stays the same in both areas so that you do not have to adjust your rates from mainland to island?

This is why I no longer am just a painting contractor, I can't wait for all these jokers to go out of business.

To be honest, I'd take a modest day rate to live in Hawaii and escape the rat race of the northeast. But, Honolulu has a 35.7% higher cost of living than Philadelphia. So that $250/day becomes the equivalent of $186 day here.

$186 minus gas, insurance, phone, sundries, taxes, time spent not painting and running estimates, etc, I'd be lucky to clear a hundred bucks a day. The worst part is, people wouldn't even look at $250 per day as "cheap" thanks to Craigs List. That's a tough business model for an owner operator. Instead of being rewarded for experience and efficiency, its puts a cap on how much money can be earned. That sounds way too much like a job to me.
