Default Alright..

Hi fellow brothers and sister of the brush!

Im Steve, a painting and decorating lecturer from Wales UK..

Originally from London, hence the 'cockney' tag..

I have been involved in the painting and decorating trade since I left school..how quick time flys when your having fun eh?...and I have had fun, enjoyed every minute of the 'ride' so far..the day I stop enjoying my work is the day im going to have to retire.

I started as an apprentice, foreman, ran my own business for 17 years, then after the wife nagging me to 'get a real job' I moved into construction training...firstly recruiting, looking after and placeing new trainees with companies...then I stepped into teaching.

And thats about it...oh, my reason for joining?...Im just interested in knowing about the trade across the pond and the different products and techniques you guys use..and of course...I enjoy being in the company of painters and decorators...we are 'different' lol

When Im on holiday...sorry..vacation, in the States I spend a lot of time walking around the Home Depot, Lowes..and last time I even managed to blag my way into Sherwin Williams for a chat...so..I spend 5 grand on a holiday, and spend half of it 'talking paint!'...

My mrs says painters are are painters the world over..we are all the same and, her words..'a breed of their own! lol...

In the words of Shaft...'Daaaaaaaaaaamn right!'

Hello Steve, welcome from the UK. Small World

Where were you in London? I married a London girl. Though I'm from Kent.
What's worse, my Mum is from Welsh Wales (south... where the men are men and the sheep are frightened). A Little place called Marloes.
Got a bit in common, mate or boyo, whichever you prefer

Mistcoat..Im from Peckham originally..Millwall territory!..Live just outside Swansea, married a Welsh sort.

The only people who call be 'boyo' are mates from London who try and put a Welsh accent on and end up sounding like Pakistanis!
