Default APV Engineered Coatings Company & New Product Intro

APV Engineered Coatings was founded in 1878 by J. Martin Beck and Edward G. Kubler under the name of Akron Varnish Works. The company’s product line consisted of wood varnishes and black enamels, and business steadily grew. In 1893, the safety bicycle was invented, and a bicycle boom occurred – everybody wanted one. The company reaped the benefits of this boom as more than half of the nation’s bikes were finished with enamel from Akron Varnish Works. Founded in 1878 in Akron, APV Engineered Coatings manufactures custom-engineered products that are sold worldwide to a wide variety of industries.

In 1912, the factory was expanded to accommodate the fast-growing demands of the automobile industry. "Any color as long as it's black" -Henry Ford -Akron Varnish Works enjoyed outstanding prosperity supplying its black Japan, a fast drying enamel, that enabled Henry Ford to increase assembly line speeds. Soon after, the company continued to grow and develop new products, which enabled it to survive The Great Depression. In 1935, reflecting this new line of paints and varnishes, its stockholders changed the firm’s name to The Akron Paint & Varnish Company. The trade sales part of the business grew, and the company’s expanding sales included the tire industry, airline industry, and products for government applications.

In 1982, David Venarge became president of Akron Paint & Varnish, Inc. The trade sales division was sold, and the company focused its technology and expertise on the engineered coatings market. In the 1990s, in recognition of this continued research, development, and engineering orientation, the company once again altered its name, to APV Engineered Coatings.

Today, the company’s customer base is very diverse, providing products and services to all industry arenas and the armed forces. Its philosophy is simple: partnering with customers is mutually beneficial – APV’s customers are its partners, and its partners are its customers. APV’s long term commitment to engineering and manufacturing quality products is a legacy that will surely continue into the future.

Welcome to the forum.
We don't have many vendors here and I look forward to your contributions. I am sure you will find a few members that may be interested in testing your new product.

If you wish to just promote your program or advertise your company, please contact the admin, Nathan, by using the "contact us" link on the bottom right.

This might be a helpful read.

Thanks!

Thank you very much for your forum assistance, and helpful link read!
We decided to join the forum not purely for advertising, but as a dual purpose to both introduce our company and new product as well as becoming further integrated on a personal level with the paint contracting community. At APV we feel the best business is carried out through longstanding relationships with our partners, as we do not necessarily cater to the masses and for this particular product are strictly looking to work with paint contractors and not the general consumer. There is also undoubtedly a wealth of information to be gained from the members of this forum, in addition to what our company can contribute to it. We look forward to learning more from the rest of the community and how we can provide added benefit to it.

Thanks again!!

Welcome.

What are your current distribution plans for your product?

What markets (areas) will be developed first?

Default Product Distribution and Marketing Plans

Thank you!

Our company will be the primary distributor directly to paint contractors. The paint contractors will then be the only point of distribution to consumers through their actual business application of the product. We have also developed a certification program for paint contractors using our product to ensure the correct preparation and application procedures are employed to provide the best end result when using the NeverFade™ product.

NeverFade™ with KYNAR® PVDF Resin is excellent in resisting Dirt, Stains, Algae, Fungus, Chemicals, Corrosion, and Color Fading as well as its minimal need for maintenance. These abilities are emboldened by its combination with high quality pigments and UV blockers to help shield structures from harmful rays that lead to fading. Therefore we are initially focusing on areas that are subjected to intense amounts of solar exposure, as these would benefit most from an exterior paint product that doesn't fade. A few of these areas would include states such as Arizona, California, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Naturally other states may participate as well however, individuals in the aforementioned areas may be the primary benefactors of such a product due to the amounts of sun generally received in their locations.
