Default Greetings from Arkansas

Hello my name is Herb Spencer. I began working for my grandfather in 1962. His business was H.L. Meek Painting and Decorating. He did all exterior and interior and was a paper hanger. He had an average of 5 people, and he referred to them as "mechanics". He always praised what he called a "good clean mechanic", which in those days meant a highly qualified and skilled painter. We did a lot of rich people's homes. I have a thousand stories, some of the quite funny. So after a while Viet Nam came and I went in the US Army. I stayed there 30 years. After that wife and I went into the apartment management business. I have to date painted over 250 apartments and still going. I wore out a Wagner Sprayer and have nearly worn out a Grayco Pro-Max. I can't tell you why I love all the hard work, but I do. I am a "brush man" by choice, but spray man by time needs. Apartments are easy as walls, ceilings and woodwork are usually all the same color. We use SW pro-block first as apartments can look like hog pens when you do a "turn-around" on them. I am also a perfectionist by raising, and I can't break out of it. (Blame my grandfather and the US Army for that.) I am looking forward to discussions with all you folks. My best to all who read this.
