Default Greetings Everyone.

My name is Mark, I'm 22 and I have been painting on and off since I was 12, as my father is a general contractor. The past year I have been going to school for my associates in business and marketing, and recently got a job painting for a company, for the past month.

Let me explain my work situation, this company, which will remain private; can not run a business. They hired me as a employee at a 15/hr rate, and just until yesterday they said that I will be filling out a 1099 form, !!! This is even when I possess all my own tools, that they also ask to use ALL THE TIME. As I've been working there, the other employees tell me they don't pay on time, they don't supply equipment, and they don't lift a finger to help with anything. I have had it up to my neck with the crazy bs they aspire to the krew. They drive nice new cars, but don't pay their workers on time, AND don't pay for medicare or unemployment. Then to top it off, they run to the store every time they arrive at the job-site, for what? One gallon AT A TIME!!!!!! Just kills me, this is where I venture off into my own business.

I've been reading this forum for the past few weeks and decide to become a member, always had great experiences on forums. I've learned a lot, but have a lot more to learn. I'm in the process of mucking up fliers and attempting to create a logo. I've learned a lot about business from my parents so I think this venture will be good for me. Just started reading about how to estimate and bid jobs, I have a older friend, in the 50's who works for the company I work for now but I would like to hire him ( he hasn't been paid for more than 4 weeks ! ) He drives his own truck and always carries their equipment, reliable too.

Sorry about all the rambling, I've been putting off introductions for a while. I want to become successful in this and would love any help I can get.

Well, HELLO PAINT TALK! Thank you for your time!

Welcome Mark.

Our past work experiences teach us what to do and sometimes what not to do. Hang in there and keep learning.
