Default greetings from oregon

i googled this site trying to get mechanical advice about removing a graco 395st piston from the cylinder. followed graco instr but they say to tap it out with a plastic mallet from the top down thru bottom.i've been whacking it pretty good and it won't budge.the piston will twist and move up and down a bit but won't come out the bottom.the ball guide is still up in there.the ball came out when i took the intake valve off.the packing nut is off but the thingy under the p-nut did not come out either. should i soak, heat or beat ?

We have some pretty knowledgeable spray guys around here and one of them will chime in eventually, patience is the key.
Did the rig dry out? Did you double check to make sure you have removed everything prior to trying to tap it out? If you have been tapping it as graco suggests I would let it soak.

Jason from API is out that way as well and is a good problem solver.
