Post Hello!

Hi everyone, My name is Mathew and have been lurking for a few weeks. I am a passionate residential/ commercial re-paint business owner. Started in 2000, we have been very succesful at meeting and exceeding the customers expectations by treating them like they deserve. We always strive to not be a 'contractor' but a trusted companion in the protection/ beautification of their most important asset. It always amazes me that a little extra attention blows customers away. To keep it short i treated the company like a paying hobby for the first 8 years. then, when it was hard to pay the bills (since my employees were making more than me) i decided things had to change. 3 straight years of price increases (even in a down economy) systemization of processes and ongoing employee training have found us in the best fiscal year to date(+55%).I love to learn what others are doing and constantly improve upon customer relations.

Let me just say that I am here with a positive attitude and from my time lurking have noticed many threads with way too much negative vibe. A little would go a long way in welcoming/ inviting new members to be pro-active if there wasn't so much negativity.

The industry we are in was chosen by us and needs to be changed by us. Changing the perception of a painter takes a change in a painter's perception of themselves.

Thanks in advance and look forward to communicating with many positive people!
