Welcome! There's some great info to be found here, but you may benefit by first starting by reading the thread "So, you want to be a painting contractor". You can find it at the top of the general painting thread. Good luck, we all had to start somewhere.

OK. Since there's not any specifics, I'll offer my limited advice as a paint shop member for a relatively large organization.

1. Understand the complete scope of work
2. Understand your rates, which include production, labor, your wage, operating costs, company capital, and materials
3. Be disciplined about measuring everything until you can recognize the amount of area to be painted without measuring
4. Read product TDS's
5. Never take safety for granted
