Default Hello all, very excited apprentice painter here

Greetings.

I'm AaronKM. I'm from the Pacific Northwest, lived there all my life except for a year and a half stint in UT back in 07.

I'm 27 years old. I'm currently awaiting to do an apprenticeship through the union. I was a top candidate so I will be among the first called for work once it picks up. I am also in school, chipping away at a construction management degree. Currently getting all the Gen Ed out of the way.

I have a little bit of painting experience under my belt (bout 3 months, just got my feet wet) and I greatly enjoy the work. I find it immensely rewarding and satisfying, plus fun! I am always striving to improve and be the best that I can be. I am a hard worker and my attitude rocks. The union will be lucky to have me on board.

I have a bazillion questions concerning the trade and will ask them, so be prepared! I look forward to contributing to this forum. Thanks for reading!

Welcome, I to was in a union apprenticeship program and will say you can make a good living and have exceptional insurance and dental benefits, and a pretty good pension when you become a journeyman if you can hang in there.

Welcome to the group! And concerning getting your feet wet, don’t worry too much about it - we’ve all stepped in some spilled paint at one time or another.
