Default Hello And... Am I Welcome?

Salutations!

Wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and ask a quick question.

Name is Drake, and I manage the paint dept. at a small lumber yard. Been selling paint for a few years now, but I'm always trying to learn more to better help out my contractors and DIYers. Have enjoyed perusing PaintTalk in the past but I hadn't commented until today.

So my question is... is it okay for me to take part in the discussions? I notice in the rules it says it's for paint contractors and points DIYers to another sister site... but doesn't say anything about us vendors!

You seem like a good enough group of guys, though, and this seems like a good place to learn. If y'all would rather me go back to lurking and refrain from posting, just let me know. Regards,

Drake B.

I'm certain we have at least one vendor on here, probably more. Thus, my personal stance on the issue is:

You are definitely welcome. You work in a field related to professional painting. We have had other paint store employees as members as well.

Thanks again, and if you guys ever have questions about the Ben Moore lines or some of the more technical aspects of the paints please feel free to hit me up. I couldn't hold a candle to you guys when it comes to technique (and I'll probably spend a lot of time asking about that end of stuff), but I put a lot of hours into understanding what goes into paint and how it works, as well as industry news, so let me know if I can be of assistance in that regard.

Welcome Drake,

As stated, we have other paint dealers here, as long as you sell PAINT and not Behr, you're A-OK

BTW, I haven't painted in decades, I now hang paper - and am easing into retirement, and I haven't been booted yet. (although some have tried - but that's a whole different story )

I'd rather sell Valspar than Behr

Edit: And that's saying something

Edit Edit: Man, I am having a rage-inducing time trying to find where to put a signature so I can have my name/business with my posts...

Welcome Woodford

Yeah, you wanna be careful about using the "B" word around here, it's been known to cause a ruckus.

I know daArch mentioned it first, but he's really, really old and we just kinda overlook it with him.
