Congratulations! You may now kiss your weekends goodbye! I hope you're married because even if you ever do get the time to date someone, you'll be too exhausted to leave the sofa.

Seriously, though, don't under-bid. Instead, detail your bids so your customers know they are paying for quality. Be confident. Guarantee your work. Don't take anything for granted. Introduce yourself to the paint store owner and staff and become friends with all of them, and leave cards there. Be organized and track your leads and jobs. Remember people's names. Write them down along with contact info and job description. Remember their spouse's and kids' names too. Good manners go a long way. Good luck!

burchptg gave all good advise! I want to add a last tip. In residential jobs, pay attention to the woman, promise and deliver exceptional clean up; it will be her choice what get's done and by who! My stock in trade was always making sure the women understood their options and the costs there of.

Welcome to the group!

Here is a link to a thread in the Business, Marketing, and Sales sub-forum. There’s some good info regarding running a business:
“Getting an inch of snow is like winning ten cents in the lottery.”
