Been browsing and toying with the idea of signing up for a while, I already post on another couple of other forums so I thought I'd get myself signed up over here
I'm based in Essex, England and have been in the game for about ten years so I guess I still have a few things to learn and that's why I enjoy these forums, a bit of learning, a bit of sharing. Started off on my own about 18 months ago and never looked back, there is always three or four other decorators working with me but for big jobs I have anything up to twelve of us on site (labour 'borrowed' from my dad's company!).
Most of our days are spent doing contract work, mainly cyclical decorations for social housing/shared ownership apartment blocks & housing estates in and around London. It's not the greatest work but I do have loads of it and it pays the bills. I have plenty of care homes and retirement complexes lined up for the winter months.
I do try to fit in as much high-end domestic work as possible as I do truly love painting and decorating and high spec work is what I really enjoy doing. You can see some of our work on the website http://www.harridecltd.com which is where about 50% of my domestic work comes from. The website was designed, built and search engine optimised by me! I'm currently updating the website because it is starting to look a little tired and I have loads of new photos to add to it.
Anyway I'll post up whenever and wherever I can so I'll look forward to talking with you all soon.
