Default Hello, fellow paint talkers

Figured i'd better post one of these before I get "invited" to do so

I'm an "ancient" member. Used to be very active in the community here many years ago, but took a - let's call it a "hiatus". When I came back, I couldn't log back in to my old account, so I seized the opportunity to make a new one. And don't ask what my old username was - that's classified. Let's just say there are a couple of photos of my smiling mug floating around here somewhere.

I've been painting for nearly 20 years and have worked in just about every part of the industry. Spent my first 10 in residential, mostly new homes. For 7 of those years, I owned a mid-sized painting business - also primarily new construction - but had to shut er down after the crash of 08. I've done a considerable amount of commercial work - towers, malls, warehouses and whatnot, dabbled with wood finishing, spent a couple of years doing heavy industrial - pipelines, tanks, sandblasting etc., a couple more doing flooring - epoxies, broadcasts yada yada, and settled in now on a nice maintenance gig, doing maintenance painting for Canada's largest prison. Sure, I don't get the greatest views there, but my days of spraying paint in mach 30 wind from a 100' boom are over

I see a lot of familiar faces around here still which is nice to see. Also a lot of new ones. Looking forward to bantering with ya.

Cheers!
