Default Hello from Rhode Island

Hi, my name is Zach Kenney owner of ZK Painting LLC. I have been in business for 3 years now doing primarily high end residential repaints and restorations. I had about 6 years experience prior to going into business for myself, most of that was spent helping my father start a business in a trade we both knew very little about. I then moved to Philadelphia and worked for a small high end contractor on the main line for about 2 years.
I have become obsessed with doing work the best way possible. Using the best tools for the job as well as trying to understand coating systems so that each job looks amazing and lasts. Before bidding/starting a new project I do extensive research, and much of that has been on this forum. Learning all I can from the vast knowledge and experience the true professionals have acquired over your careers.
My business has consumed much of my life in the last couple years. I look forward to finding time to spend on this forum getting to know some of you guys and talking paint theory.

Zack

Great to see you speak on paint talk.

I enjoyed hangin' with you at JLC Live in Providence earlier this year. Hope you are doing well.

To the gang, this is the next Damon Thompson.

Thanks for the welcome guys. We are staying pretty busy, just finished 2 months of fixing/finishing the work of the company considered to be the gold standard here in RI. Its been eye opening experience, 8000 sq ft custom new construction home with coverstain on all the custom milled cedar, windows were not sealed to the glass, mildew growing behind clear coats, 20% moisture levels sealed in, you name it. I will be posting some pictures of this one, it was the hardest job I have ever done. Dealing with a disgruntled homeowner each day, while working for the highly reputable builder who was try to save face and paying out of pocket. Its finally over though, time to regain my sanity.

Scott I really enjoyed our conversation, I emailed you the next day through preptopaint about furthering the discussion but I probably messed something up in the process and it didnt get to you. I am very interested in checking out your operation and learning all I can, any info on that program would be great.

I'll track that down and shoot you an email, Zack. The whole thing has come quite a long ways since we spoke. Stay cool.
