Default Hey all! Also question about a401 contracts

Hey all my name is Carl, I manage a Benjamin Moore /Devoe/California Paint store also a small painting company. I moved here from Wales (UK) over four years ago and been around the painting business all my life.

I have noticed something strange perhaps even more so in our current economeny painters starting work with nothing more than a handshake, my main question refers to sub-contracting are people at least using A401 contracts/agreements or are you using a better format?

So if a general contractor asks you to sub what agreements should a painter have from the general contractor?

Thanks Carl

Wow, everyone decries the avoidance of placing a post in the "introductions section" BEFORE posting...yet nobody says hello when they do...

Welcome!

I enjoyed our face to face the other day (I picked up the gallon of Natura), and I am looking forward to patronizing your new BM location on Antioch! I agree that the new location will give you better exposure to the John$on Co. "$cene", which will be a major plus for sales.

I have met this member in person and have had a few convos over the past few years, he is a great guy and will offer a wealth of real time, level headed advice.
He is a painter first and a store manager second imho.

EDIT:
He is as "Brit" as it gets! Over the Pond indeed.

I got a whisper through the grapevine that he was a friend of yours so I avoided him like the plague.

Welcome to PT Carl.
lol, I debated whether I should associate on the board, what with my record...

However I did divulge my 30 day ban to him and he laughed.
I would never endorse a member other than one I deemed worthy of having an opinion in such a gladiator pit as the one we have here.
We agreed on more than one topic concerning ethics, quality, and what tools are necessary for the perfect finish.

Running your own show now? Good man

I remember my Welsh cousin was walking with me in the Welsh countryside near his home.
He said to me, ''See that old pile of boulders over there?''
''Yeah, why?'' said I.
''That there, is where I lost my virginity. And, her Mother was there watching!''
''You're kidding me.'' I said, ''What did her Mother say?''
''Baa, baaa!!!'' he told me.
