Default Hi All, from Ireland

Greetings from across the pond!

Stumbled across this forum the other evening, it's a great facility to have for the the professional painter and decorator, nothing like this in Ireland.

Lived in Beantown from '92-'04. Had my own painting business, anybody on here know George and the gang at the Drive-In Paint Mart in Dorchester and South Boston?

Looking forward to getting to know lots of you and sharing thoughts and ideas.

Slan,
Andrew

PS I'm an avid Land Rover nut, and offroader.

Welcome to PT! We won't hold it against you for having lived in Boston.

I hear the economy is very grim in Ireland. I just started an irish painter who moved to Australia for work.

welcome Mackey.

I live not too far out of Boston. Grew up in Dedham. Lost a lot of brain cells and DNA in Boston in my youth. Went to BU for a few days.

Hope your second home was Doyles in JP. Love that place. Was even better when they had sawdust on the floor and you couldn't cut the cigarette smoke with a chainsaw.

I've driven by the Drive-In Paint Mart many times, never stopped in.

Thanks for the welcome guys,

Mike, i'm living near Maynooth, most of my work is around Dublin, though I have been doing a lot in our neighbouring county of Kildare recently.

Work is strong at the mo' even though the economy is still in recession.
A lot of the painters around town have either shut shop or emigrated, which is great for us.

Boston was great, did lots of work around Dedham, Wellesley, Newton even Marthars Vineyard.
No, I've never been to Doyles in Jamacia Plain, but do know it.

Lived in Quincy for a while, then bought a house in Jackson Square, Weymouth. Hi Joe, at Jackson Square Paint, (The Italian Stallion)

Drive-In Paint Mart was very good for me, please support them if you ever need supplies when working in the area, tell them Andrew sent you.
