Default Hi From Australia

Hi my name is Nigel,

I have been a painter for over 15 years and ran a crew of 12, specialising in Lead Paint Removal. Recently I had an accident in which I snapped ligaments and tendons in my ankle. The doctors have ruled out me swinging a brush again.

I was on the board of the Queensland Master Painters Association for over 10 years, 3 of which I spent as President, as well as 5 years on the Federal Board of Master Painters Australia.

Last year I started HomePaintersInfo.com as an information web site and it has now grown into a member site as well as a paint accessories shop servicing Australian painters.

I hope that I am going to be able to learn more about my industry, of which I have been passionate, as well as pass on some of my knowledge from my time in the industry.

Thanks for taking the time to read,

Nigel

Hi Nigel

Not sure if you remember me, Michael Farrugia. I used to be in Toowoomba TAFE and the Toowoomba MPA branch. I was the MPA chair on the Gold Coast for a period as well.

We met a couple of times briefly, I am in Fiji now teaching over here on the APTC project.

I have found this forum a great way to keep up to date with the Gossip internationally and as evidence of moderation for the AQTF.

I have come across some great threads and some great comments from very experienced painters and even some paint chemist and manufacturers.

Welcome aboard and thanks for all the work you have done for the industry over the years.

Hi Michael,

Of course I remember you and thanks for your kind words.

It's great to see you are doing well and continuing your work in the industry overseas. I think you not being here is a loss for us, however I hope that when you return you will have learnt something new that you can pass on.

I'm slowly looking through the site and enjoying the reading and tips from our fellow painters around the globe.

Hope to catch up soon,

Nigel
