Welcome M&P.

On the RL line, I have heard from a local supplier that (I think I am remembering this right) there is a $5k monthly minimum order. They were discouraged by it shortly after bringing it in. I think it depends on your market. If I was a retailer, and had BM, I probably wouldnt bring it in. The one thing I will say about RL is that they have some really good colors. And the suede paint is kinda cool.

So great to see an Independent here. I worked for BM in sales for 25 years. Lots has changed. I also worked for Akzo Nobel. Been in the coatings business since I was 8. Contracted for 15 years, went to BM, became NACE certified and got into high performance coatings. Retail and residential re-paint are my specialty. I love the coatings business. Can still swing a brush and know almost every manufacturers products from practical use better then most. This is a great place despite some bickering and egos. Any help I can provide please PM me and I will give you my cell. My loyalties are furthering the trade, not criticizing the brands. I remain neutral and welcome your presence.

Welcome M&P,

I managed a small brick and mortar paint and wallpaper in an upscale town for a brief while in 89 & 90, I can empathize. We carried California and Touraine.

I know nothing about RL paint, but the his wallpaper line has vastly improved in quality in the last decade.

Do you sell paper also? I don't know what the market is like outside of Hotlanta.

I love mom & Pop stores! They get about 95% of my money every month because of their SERVICE! They provide service that the big stores seem unable to provide. Good luck!

Hi Rebecca and Pop. We have 3 mom and pops in my area, and I go to each of them for specific things no one else carries. (One gets really great rags with no seams!)
