Default Introducing myself

I think this what one does when they are new to the site...

Hi, guys and gals.

Thought I should do a short intro.

Dewey S. here. A small time S.P. Painting Contractor in Seattle, WA
Dewey's Painting DEWEYP*892NA

I have been in the trade for 11 years. I was in the local Painters Union.
Got to 5th bracket. Got laid off and started working on my own.
Single man operation. I love the trade. I started painting when I was a lad. My parents owned a motel in California where I helped painting the rooms in the slow season (winter). I was going through a time where I was burned out on my previous occupation and thought I would get back into the trades. Was a carpenter's helper a couple different time when I was younger. Somehow I ended up in the Painting field. Glad I did.

I enjoy brushing out trim work and doing the best possible job at the most efficient pace I can muster. I have no problem breaking out the sprayer (small spraytech) when needed. I do both interior and exterior. Repaint for homeowners. I have done a few commercial gigs. I, like a lot of folks got rude awaking in the downturn a few years back. I now try not to turn away any work and put in more hours than I would like to, just to be prepared for when the work is thin.

I joined Paint talk to see how others approach their jobs and to learn new aspects of the trade that I am not experienced in. I'm looking forward to chewing the fat with you all.

Cheers, Dewey
