Default Introduction

I'm a painting contractor from Kansas with 3 years of full-time experience but, have painted on the side for 7 years. I am a licenced renovator and lead-safe work practices certified. I mainly do residential re-paints, some new construction and light commerical work. Just building up my business and seem to keep growing/getting more busy every year.
I joined this forum to learn more about the trade and how other contractors "tackle" problems that occur out in the field. Though new here, I like to give insight on products and problems in which have had to deal with.

I took this as having 7 years part time experience before the 3 years of full time business experience

Theres a dude in KC with a carefully quaffed beav on his chin who can create magnificent and unique works of paint for next to nothing. Have you seen him around? I hear the dude is putting everyone out of business. You would have to be a full time painter painting on the side to even try to compete.

Funny stuff.

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I've been signed on here for a little while now but, for some reason just did my introduction, thanks to a friendly reminder from Nathan (the admin).

So far the forum's have been very helpful/useful. I know that I don't have a bunch of experience like many of you but, I feel that I have been growing my business at a steady pace for doing everything by myself. Like many of you I started with the basics and have had to learn many things the "hard way".

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their posts and I hope that maybe I can bring some of my insights to this forum.
