Hi everyone. My name is Jim and I have operated a successful painting business in Brisbane, Australia for the past 27 years. I was born in England but have been here for nearly 50 years. I have 3 men and 1 female apprentice working for me. Because I have been a painter for so long (42 years) I wrote a book (How To Become A Really Successful Painter) to help other painters run a successful business as I felt it was time to give something back to the painting industry. Dulux Australia purchase these books to give to every final stage painting apprentice in Australia (around 1300 a year) just in case that one year, they may want to start a business of their own.

My wife and I were over your way last year and I caught up with a few painters on the Moors down around Devon & Cornwall. It was interesting the different techniques and products you use. One I thought was amusing was Dulux anti burgular paint. I took a photo of the can and got quite a laugh from everyone here.

Anyway, that's enough for now. I look forward to chatting to you pommies (I'm one too don't forget) to exchange ideas and techniques.

See ya! (or is it Ta, Ta)

Is it paint that leaves fingerprints in it or is it so slick you can't climb the walls? My mind is racing with the possibilities.

Default Anti-burgular paint

Sorry people. I thought I was on a UK site so my previous postings wouldn't have made much sense. My wife and I were in the States (east side) in June though. You have a lovely country. Didn't see many painters around. Doing the west side next year.Did you like the anti-burgular paint though? Apparantly you apply it on downpipes as that is the way some crims get into properties.

Cheers
