Default Just another newbie...

I was reading some of the posts and really liked the responses. Not finding rude comments here is definitely a plus. (so far)
I live in southern Ontario, Canada. have been in this business for about 9 years now. We do both commercial and residential painting in the Greater Toronto Area. hope to find some good advice here, when needed.

Welcome!

It's interesting that there is a concern, from many new members, that there might be rude comments in this forum. I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I've been participating in only this forum since 2007, and can honestly report that there hasn't been any more rude comments then you might be exposed to anywhere. Whether it be TV, in the work place, in public, or at a Thanksgiving meal with friends and family.

However, I do think that when a post invites a subject of discussion, that there will always be room for disagreement. But, I am very careful not to misconstrue opinions for rude comments.

Maybe that's why I haven't recognized many.

Welcome to the group.

Rudeness and bluntness can often be misconstrued as the same thing depending on your point of view.

The site has definite rules regarding behavior of the members but even so things can sometimes get a little heated. If you feel someone is crossing the line then it's a fairly simple matter to report it to one of the moderators. Still, most here would probably agree that having a sense of humor while not being too thin skinned or full of yourself will allow you to get along with most of the other participants.
