Hello everyone My name is Heather and I have recently began to run a business for my husband and his brother out of Detroit, MI. Any advice? I have no clue what I am doing but they have about 20 years combined experience. I basically make the appointments and sometimes attend estimates but its frustrating b/c i sometimes dont know what to say

It's gotta be tough running a trade business when you don't know the trade part. My wife helps me some, but I struggle with communication on the more important aspects.
If you learn enough about how there jobs go, track materials used, measure jobs, track time on different aspects of work, etc.., then you could help them more intuitively.

Heather,
It can be hard if you don't know the technical aspects of painting. I was in the same spot when I first joined PT. There is a lot of good information here on every aspect of running a business. Here is a thread with some suggestions
You can definitely be an asset to the company by learning all you can.

Maybe a mod will split this into your own thread.

Welcome to the forum Heather! I started your own thread in the introduction section so you don't get lost in the mix of the other one. My suggestion would also be the same as RCP. Start off by READING as much as you can, then post questions as you need to. There's plenty of members here who would love to help you.
