Default New Painter From Ottawa

Hello everyone, I'm from Ottawa and am currently working at starting up a painting and bathroom renovation business. I've been a law clerk for the past seven years, including starting up a law firm from scratch with two partners. But there isn't enough business for all of us so I formally cut ties with them in the summer and remain on only for IT support and consulting.

Anyway, I grew up heavily involved in different trades- my father refinished antique furniture and operated his own business, and my mother was/is still a contractor and cabinet maker. So I have a variety of skills, but no specialty. Since the summer, I have assisted with several bathroom renovations and enjoyed that (with three more next month) but my passion is painting. I have no problem starting up businesses. I need more painting experience. I have some, but this will definitely be a learning experience for me, which is why I'm here. To educate myself from people with far more experience and knowledge.

Thankfully I have a very experienced business partner and another tradesman to consult who does bathroom renovations and apartment painting. Bottom line is I enjoy painting. The experience and knowledge will come, but a passion can take a person a long way. My goal is to, over time, become a successful painter with a successful business.

I'm a Leaf's fan though. And Jays, Raptors, TFC, and Argos. Plus the Chargers. The playoffs are few, and the championships fewer, but I'm a loyal diehard sports fan.

I thought I heard that there were "numbers to support a second team in the Toronto area"

WHAT?

Is this true ???

Was I hearing things?

The population base and popularity of hockey is there,
I am sure the leafs won't let it happen.
By the way the Bruins look unbeatable now.
