Newbie intro

Ok so here goes, my name is Dan and I'm posting this to get my "lumps" as I've heard a few of you say. I'm somewhat new at the paint scene but I assure you I'm not a hack and will not give those of you that are good at what you do a bad name. I'm choosing a profession in painting because I think it's something I can make a business out of, and there is a man discussing a "going out of business" sale now with my company that I have been at for the last 16 yrs. Not looking for sympathy, just saying its left a bad taste in my mouth for that line of work. Anyway just wanted to introduce myself and I'll be seen on here a lot. Thanks for all your advice in advance! :notworthy:

welcome Dan,

there has been a lot of good advice on this forum about both the technical and business parts of being a professional painter.

Hope you can find the time to study, learn, and succeed.

Welcome Dan. Good luck with your business. My dad once told me when I was learning the trade, "take the cotton out of your ears and put em in your mouth."
There are a lot of professionals on here with a lot of good information.
