Talking Salutations

Hello Paint Talk regulars.
Yes, I'm a lurker, and I've appreciated your insight (incite?) particularly in how the business end of thing works. I'm dabbling in a few applications but considering embarking on an Entrepreneurial plunge. With the current downturn, I"m considering resurrecting my Grands painting Co. Shhhh dont tell my wife.

Cheers
John

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Welcome lurker from Mass.

I see on your profile you say this about yourself:

"undergrad chemist, formulated some, manufactured some, applied some now selling some"

sounds interesting and raises my curiosity. Can you fill in some details?

thanks,

-Bill

Hey daArch: I've been trickling through the industry. When I graduated from University I didn't expect to be here... Worked a bit in automotive paint manufacture - got my first taste of Spraying there, managed a laboratory for a company competing in OEM Steel business - mainly epoxy primers and polyester coatings for coil. Did bench work there formulating special mixes etc. - small companies used to do that before the mass consolidation in the industry. Now I'm in the field working with Contractors - tech-service like. and yes.. I do strap on spikes and push squeegees.
Selling is a change in field. It was intended to be temporary (3 yrs later now). I did it to learn about your business because, as I posted above, my Grand ran his own painting company.

Good history ....... concise ! (one doesn't see that ability here often)

again, welcome and thanks for the insight. It sounds like you can answer some of the "unique" questions asked here.
