It seems I peeked in here once a couple of years ago but for sure never gave you an honest try. After having been posting again on the sister CT, I decided to come here and look again, Thanks RC Painting for the invitation.

I am a 3rd generation painter and have been involved in the business in one way or another for most of the last 35+ years. From the days as an apprentice to working as a journeyman and foreman on some sizable commercial jobs, I have had my own business, worked for a family owned business and a few other things over these last few decades.

Now I am finally offering the estimating software that I wrote to the public however my mind often drifts back to memories of days when I was repainting houses. I guess that was a real low pressure time. Perhaps it is something I may one day go back to.

I thoroughly enjoy these forums and generally have no problem adding my 2 cents. It may only be worth a penny but I will give it just the same.

Welcome to the site!
I enjoyed your posts over at CT, looks like you have a lot of commercial experience.
Not to mention your sparring with the infamous Mr. Mike!

Welcome aboard. I visit Texas quite often. I'm in Houston several times a year. I lived in Galveston for a year running the renavation of the San Luis Pass Bridge Job a few years ago. What side of Houston you on? I'll be back in Houston the week of June 7th. I'm a second generation Industrial Painter and now Consultant and Inspector.

Northwest Houston.

I have a small amount of experience estimating industrial work. That is very interesting, especially the way they figure coverages. I lived in Galveston for awhile once upon a time too. It is a nice little town. It used to be a gambling town years ago. Stories have it that there was organized crime running the city and elements of it are still there today.

Thanks RCP. The infamous Mr. Mike. LOL, I guess we all have our own nitch. That thread will make it's way to the top of the list for the next decade like some of those where you see someone answering a question posed in 2004 and others debating whether that is right or not, all from a post that is 5 years old.

So far I am really enjoying these threads.
