Texas hijack question. I've been trying to replicate a green sauce. Straight roasted jalepenos in oil and blended till it's creamy. I can't get it just right. What am I missing? Gawd I love that stuff...

Oh, you want me to get into fights doing YOUR investigation.
Might as well ask folks how to make chili.

Depends on if you want to make dip or enchiladas.
I don't see avocados, cilantro, tomatillos, onions, or sour cream in your mix.
Herdez is a nice quick brand verde salsa if you have access to it.
Thier picante is best too. We mix their red with green. Pace tastes kinda canned.

If you like jalepeno peppers (fresh, not pickled)
slice lengthwise (remove seeds or else), fill with cream cheese, wrap with bacon, secure with toothpick, 350 oven or barbecue grill till bacon is cooked (about 10, or 15 minutes)
Fun easy appetizer.

Not verde sauce. Its a smokin hot amazingly tasty lack of a better word salsa. Not tomatillo, not verde. My recipie thus far is jalapenos cut open remove most seeds, keep some. Roast in pan with a small amount of oil until soft and smoky. Toss in blender and puree. Add small amount of sour cream to mix. Dip chips.... its close but missing something...

I am trying to recreate a real sauce, and I have no idea other than by taste how to get it right. Its a work in progress...

It occurred to me that in my introduction that I didn't include my favorite song, "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas.

Ironically this song is probably NOT liked by exterior painters.

This has nothing to do with the fact that my thread fell onto the second page and that I still haven't caught up with the guy with 2 posts and has so many more views than me.

Oh, and here is a bonus photoshop that I did a while back:
