Default Call Log Tracking

Hey All! Hope everyone had a wonderful Holidays!

I was hoping to get a bit of input from everyone on whether or not you track your customer call/email leads/inquiries?? I currently just got QB up and running and will be able to pull up all quotes/estimates that were generated. But not all leads result in project quotes/estimates. But I wanted a tool that would allow me to track the source of leads (ie. website, referral, facebook, google, etc), so I can measure the effectiveness of each. Don't think QB has this functionality, and an Excel spreadsheet may be a little too basic??

Just wanted to know how some of you handle this and what tools you use. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Yep, a simple form on a clipboard to record all leads works best for me!

You can use CallFire to track phone numbers so you can create different phone numbers for different campaigns...

I gotta say Pay, I really like this tool! Its as easy to use as Excel (its in a spread sheet format), but love the simple analytical tools you've added!! Much easier to push a button to get results, than building your own reports and tools. Perfect for a small - medium size business. Quick and easy to update all of your calls!

Part time programmer / computer hobbyist?? Or did you have someone build this for you?? Such as a brilliant kid in college who needed extra credit for a computer class!

Thanks Fresh . Its just a hobby. Check the update button in the next day or so, there will be a small update. I forgot to add a feature to display only the leads for a specific referrals.

If you have any suggestions let me know.

That's awesome! Can't wait to see it.

Only suggestion I have would be to add a column for Quote Cost $$. This way you could see what your total $$ when you filter on a specific referral type. You could easily see how much money (gross $$) you quoted or earned for each one!

I got my degree in MIS, so I'm a fan of computer programming as well!

Hey Fresh - When you get a chance, go ahead and click the "check for updates" button under the help section. I made a few changes, and added the column for the quote costs. The other change is you now can view only the leads by specific referrals or sources, then you can filter them by the status. The other way around too.

Anyway let me know if adding the quote column was what you had in mind.
Too add a price just right click on the lead and choose update.

That's cool that you have a degree in MIS. How did you get into painting?

Ah buddy! That's awesome!! Just played around with it and love how you can search/filter by Source AND THEN Status (or vice versa). Makes is more powerful and definitely a huge help. Great job! This will definitely always be open on my desktop. I have a few sources of business and this makes it easy to give me a quick snapshot of how nice I need to be to everyone!

As for the painting, I first got into it when I was living in NC. Went to ECU on a football scholarship and lost it when I got hurt. So I started painting and renovating with a girlfriend's dad to make some extra cash and pay my way through school! When I returned home, I figured I needed to get a "real job". And after long stint in the corporate world of finance and sales, I realized that life is WAY better when you can make a living doing something you're passionate about! Hated the politics so I decided to pursue my business full-time. Have been doing it ever since and haven't looked back. Hopefully we can continue to build our business and grow a little, so we can be doing this for a long time. We've been rather fortunate up here as the economic climate in Southern Ontario, Canada is relatively good, and the real estate market is strong. From reading some of the posts here, I understand things are a little tougher south of the border. But hopefully everyone can stick it out!! Lots of money in the US, so we just need to get people to open up their pocketbooks!

I was working on an update to that thing. Not sure what happen but I forgot to finish it. Added several things like you now can have your google calendars show up right in the program. Added better graphs and charts and more of them. Several other things. Reminders also, but need to finish that one.

Ive been using pipe line deals recently which has an area with that you can use for that purpose.
