Hey valuepro, how much money has any business you purchased from because of groupon made off you?

Maybe if I sold furniture at a 300% markup I wouldn't mind giving groupon half of my money on an already cost slashed business deal.

Probably not, I hope this company dies, and their IPO flops harder than Vonage.

An aesthetically pleasing interior is an integral component of happiness, which is why most people get their pancreas tattooed. Enliven the inside of your domicile with today’s Groupon: for $99, you get a paint job for one room up to 12'x14' in size––which includes minimal prep and caulking and a choice of two coat applications or a color change––from Idaho Painting (a $250 value). Idaho Painting's painters will travel to homes throughout Boise, Meridian, Eagle, and Nampa.
Idaho Painting’s experienced brush brandishers festoon outmoded interiors with vibrant coats of Sherwin-Williams and Devoe paints. Wielding an arsenal of eco-friendly products, highly vetted painters hand wash walls and doctor blemishes with caulk to prepare for artful daubs. After priming, a spray of rich paint imbues walls with a choice of colors––such as lilac to complement decorative foliage or black to emulate the inside of a turtle shell.
After application, painters complete a full cleanup, removing remnants of blue tape and worn-out rollers. A two-year warranty assures touch-ups should the paint job blister, peel, chip, or spontaneously evaporate.
Idaho Painting also gives new customers 10%–25% off every additional painting project.
WTF?

From what I gather, Groupon takes your business details and writes ad copy that they think is "edgey" and irreverent in the (misguided?) belief that it is more attention getting and therefore sells more. Personally I don't like their style, but then I'm older than 25. My feeling is that if I'm spending my money on something, I want to be talked to as a serious consumer, not a comedy club patron.
