We are now into that time of year when some days off are to be expected. Its just time to do the work that isn't done by brush. I have been using my extra time to work on my website, contact potential customers, organizing the piles of junk i created when it was busy. Its doesn't pay off instantly, but down the road it will.

Got a call yesterday from a frantic HO who was remodeling a house at the other end of the state - S.W. corner a few miles from the CT border. 2.5 hours away. The paper hanger they had was good, but just a little laid back and slow. Three strips on a ceiling in 1.5 days ! At first I was thinking WTF? I'm going to get involved with THIS? But further exploration of the situation intrigued me.
So, to make a long story short, I made some arrangements and will be heading out this afternoon/evening (good chance to enjoy a 50 x 7" stogie ) and stay at a fellow hanger's house in Springfield. Tomorrow we will continue to the site and in two days knock out two larger ceilings, which will enable the current hanger to continue and make schedule.
I was on the phone for about two hours yesterday talking to my friend, the GC at the site, the paper manufacturer (hand made GORGEOUS stuff), another Guild member who's hung the paper, and various stores tracking down the correct paste.
What's weird is that the HO got my name from someone who I do not recall and she had so much faith that I would find a way to make it work.
So today I'm packing, chasing the paste, changing van oil, loading all sorts of planks and equip, and making sure I have MORE than enough stuff to cover all variables. The job will be sight unseen, or is that site unseen ?
