Jesse, I have exactly zero experience with textured walls. I only see it on ceilings here, and those are now very rare. We have been removing popcorn for the last week on one now.

Everything goes flat here, and its a must you back roll. Sounds like a difference in texture, like maybe someone wet an area to get it to trowel and it came out shiny.

    SL,
I have read your thread responses in regards to back rolling. But then do you back roll new textured walsl and ceilings with primer? And how can you tell if its a bad texture drywall job. See my situation is, spec/trac new construction interior, knockdown texture I spray and backroll primer then spray finish. Before I had primered I had an opportunity to side light the drywall texture finish and seen imperfections that looked like surf boards and oval in shape. Wisdom on this. The drywall boss thinks that difference in sheen is only a paint problem. I disagree and showed him where a wall was boughed and asked he seen a difference in sheen, and he said he died. And does different/bad texture produce difference in sheen? I think I know the answer to that but looking for some wisdom from other experts.
    Thanks

I actually live in Rose Hill now, which is about 40 miles from Goldsboro. I have no idea what happened with that HD, there. There is one in Wilmington that seems to be pretty successful but Lowes is king around here. There are 9 within a 60 mile radius, which is a lot considering population.

WOW My house is 17 miles from Greenville. That is the only HD for I dont know how long. there is a Lowes in Greenville as well as Kinston and Goldsboro. If you made a triangle with Greenville, Kinston and Goldsboro on the corners my house would be in the center.
