"In the federal government's budget for fiscal year 2011, the White House announced that it wants to stop the inappropriate misclassification of employees as independent contractors. The White House announced the creation of a joint Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service task force that would strengthen and coordinate federal and state efforts to deter misclassification of employees as independent contractors. The task force would work to (1) eliminate incentives in the law for employers to misclassify their employees, (2) enhance the ability of the IRS and DOL to penalize employers that misclassify, and (3) restore protections to employees who have been denied them because of their improper classification."

The law already exists. It is already ilegal to do what they say. It's just not enforced. (kind of like immigration) What they want is more power to snoop.

If they were really concerned about employee protection, they would reduce 201(b) visas for foreign workers (microsoft gets thousands) and enforce the border, protecting American jobs from ilegal aliens.

They want MONEY!!!

They are NOT concerned with your "job protection".
