At Last, I Get to Paint My Own House

Like the shoe maker, my house is the last to get painted. I started today. I am doing the whole house in white eggshell. Doors, trims, walls, ALL will be white eggshell. (Kitchen excepted, that is going to be a rich, sunny yellow, the same as it currently is.) I love the clean linen look!

Won't you get tired of pure white? Yes, the white color expands the space, but still..... maybe add a little shade of some color? Quite a bit

Painting your entire house in white eggshell with the exception of the kitchen being a rich, sunny yellow can create a fresh and clean aesthetic. White is a versatile color that can make a space feel bright, open, and timeless. It can also serve as a neutral backdrop, allowing you to showcase other elements of your décor.

The choice of white eggshell as the paint finish adds a subtle sheen to the walls, giving them a soft glow and a smooth texture. This finish is often preferred for interior walls as it provides a slight reflection of light without being too shiny.

Having the kitchen in a contrasting sunny yellow color can add a vibrant and energetic touch to the space. Yellow is often associated with warmth, happiness, and positivity, and it can create an inviting atmosphere in the kitchen area.

Ultimately, the decision to go with white eggshell throughout the majority of your house and a yellow kitchen is a personal preference. If you love the clean linen look and feel it aligns with your style and desired atmosphere, then it's a great choice. It's important to create a home environment that makes you feel comfortable and reflects your tastes and preferences.
I've done the rich color thing in both red and olive. Being an artist before painting houses, I like the clean studio look. I also like it better for lighting. In the end it will be like a blank canvas to which I can easily add big splashes of color. It is a refreshing change! (I'm also remembering why I rarely paint at home; I'm always "In the way." & it's difficult for me to get family to respect boundaries.)

Yup that's yellow! I dig the contemporary monochrome scheme with the white. Usually I will break up the sheen
though. Flat ceilings, satin trim, eg shell walls. While white, all surfaces have a slight contrast due to sheen alone.

The pics are after ONE COAT over a previously green wall. I am still impressed! I will need second coats but even after 1, it comes off pretty well AND it promises 550sq/ft but I'm getting closer to 600! (Do not do adhesion test for at least 14 days according to the tds) I know I raved about this stuff a while back but now I have pics! (I had to hang something up in the first pic because my camera could not focus the white, I cropped it out in the second.) SICO Evolution 2-in-1 paint and primer with an eggshell finish, Delicate white PPG 1001-1:

Gloss at 60°: 0 to 5% Gloss at 85°: 0 to 5%
Walls, doors & trims all the same paint)

I will likely get bored with it but for now, it's a nice rest. As noted earlier, a blank canvas until I feel inspired to something else. Also, the white is an excellent back-drop for my paintings.

@sxcsxooters You said "That's great! Painting your own house can be a rewarding and fulfilling project. I received a notice in my email but the post is missing here. I am a professional painter, BTW! I do know how to plan, prep and finish a paint job and I don't do it any differently here, with the exception that I'm a bit slower. I RARELY SPRAY in an occupied house.
P.S. I see that poster, @sxcsxooters has been banned, over night!
