I just used Aura satin for the first time in a deep base chocolate. The sheen wasreally semi gloss and I couldnt keep a wet edge with the ac off and moving my 18inch three eight nap at warp speed. Went to the Matte and used extender it it was still very difficult. Any similar experiences?

there is a thread on aura, everyone agreed that you can't paint the same as normal( ie. tough to keep a wet edge) and that you will have to change your habits to use the product. Type Aura into the search function.

There is a learning curve to that stuff
Once you wrap your head around it it's pretty finish and production friendly

It dries quick, but that's OK...go with it
I have found no need to keep a wet edge

It does not take kindly to over-brushing and over-rolling
But it levels out great...just lay it and leave it

It touches up great...no need to hit a holiday while it's still wet
In fact, that'll hose you..just get it later

All that being said, the satin is not my favorite, and is (IMO) the hardest to work with
I'm not real fond of it for trim, and I really wouldn't want to try it on a wall

But yeah, cut the whole room, then roll it, lay it a leave it, hit the holidays later

Used the Satin for the first time today. Tahiti Blue covering yellow in one coat! I noticed I was having problems with a few runs that seemed to wait a while to come out. I checked everything over after a while then went to do something, came back and the little buggers came out to play. I didn't notice that with the Matte.

Hey Guys, thanks everyone for the feedback! I had used AURA twice before and had no problem. Ifailed to mention that the walls I painted were fourteen feet high. I know about the dry cut and the quick dry and to apply lightly. It still appeared in this deep base to be drip friendly(left eyes) and even with BM extender flashy! Again thanks everybody for the help and what kinda brushes are you guys using?

Tony, I talked to some local painters and they were telling me the BM REP recommended they spray some chairs for a restauraunt with satin Aura. While I did do a small bath room with a ruby red satin Aura and had no problem several local guys told me they wouldnt touch it.

It was not the getting used to the finish and application that bothered me about aura. It was the fact I could not get the coverage that was so hyped.

I honestly didn't see the deep bases covering any better than super spec.
not sure what your using but we were four coats with red using SS and now its two that's money in our pocket. SS deep colors blow... its like spreading slime...
