I was just solicited. I wonder. tax ramifacations? Anyone ever get involved in one of these groups. AS a service I cannot see how my services could be valued?
It may be hard to value painting against other services in the "knowledge industry", but in the labor industry you can measure it according to the average calories exerted towards a particular task. This method would give an objective assessment when bartering for equal product value.

Now someone has to develop the nationally recognized Trade Activity and Caloric Output (TACO) Chart, then establish a price per calorie.

Too much time on my hand...or arm that is.

I have heard bartering is illegal since the Gov cant track the GDP, even if it is a wash tax wise....

Having said that, the only way I will barter again is by a sealed quote from each company and then pay or be paid the difference. I always seem to loose, except when I got my last truck painted. I felt the guy who painted it lost.

Painting 2500.00
Landscaping 3000.00

Painter owes 500.00. Now if the other guys waves the 500 bucks...bonus!
