Show up first thing in the morning, within 30 minutes of sunrise and hit the nest with wasp and horest spray. The entire colony will be in the nest at that time and you will be able to wipe them out and go home sting free.

oh and to state my credentials, My company is divided in to 2 divisions Pest Control and then Home Services(painting).

I think that you first need to determine just what you are dealing with. Were they bees or hornets? Maybe yellow jackets or wasps? Or were they some diabolical creatures from outer space? Some times actual HONEY BEES will make a home between clapboard siding and the inner walls of a home. It is unnecessary to destroy them, as there are beekeepers who if contacted would come and extract them. Bees are beneficial insects, and if they sting you they die. If you are stung by a bee flick the stinger that is left in your skin off with your fingernail.Do not grab it with a pinching maneuver, or you will inject what ever venom that remains in the sack into you.In the wasp family there are wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets that can sting multiple times, and as far as I am concerned, should be eliminated by using a spray that you can hit them with from about 10 feet away. I used to hit paper wasp nests with an aerosol that made them drop dead, and as they dropped, I thought that they were still after me, but they passed right by and hit the ground dead. There is another wasp type that you might encounter that looks very wicked, but is harmless, and it is called a Cicada killer. They prey on the Cicadas that you hear in mid-summer. Hope this helps, but if they are bees, please don't kill them, kill the wasps. Happy painting Paul.

This is a very true post, due to the widespread use of non repellant, transferable pesticides, honey bee populations are on the downfall. Bees provide an important link in plant reproducive cycles that shouldn't bee over looked. They help to pollenize(sp) crops so that they can bear fruit and vegetables.

Although from the post this sounds more like yellow jackets or possibly paper wasps so feel free to kill away.

Hmm. Hey John what is the active ingredient that kills the varmits? I know that the wasps, and other insects have a lipo protien exoskeleton that is only penetrated by a substance with a oil based vehicle, but I didn't know that brake parts cleaner would do the trick, tell me more, Curious, Paul.
