Last Wednesday as I walked from the parking lot into the hospital for a cardic cauterization, hoping for the best and fearing the worst my thoughts turned to; will my customers wait if my schedule suddenly changes?, how expensive is this going to be even with insurance and no income. Had I saved enough though out the years?, How thankful I was that I had Disability Insurance to fall back on.
It was very humbling but as I entered the room I had decided that I have always loved my job and that the disability insurance had been a good idea!
How is your insurance coverage?
BTW the test results were all good!

Thank God you had insurance when you needed it.

I have been thinking about this alot lately. I am sure that there are many who do not have any coverage and will never admit it. My main concern is to start with life insurance. If I were to kill over there would be little for my family to live on. Come to think of it, that is very shortsighted and irresponsible of me. I think I will make the move today.

i assure you no paint contracter is getting very good coverage on disability insurance.its either going to be threw the roof are very poor coverage.i don't know of a carrier out there that would insure a person doing any painting for to age 65 coverage with a 180 day wait for 60% of income

Cardiac Catheterization?
That's kind of big deal as the echo cardiograms are so precise these days they don't have to do those Cardiac Caths as often

Glad it was a good result...

Being Self Employed

Perhaps some of you may be.
I feel it to be an oxymoron.

One could not prosper by passing bucks from the right hand to the left.

I conduct my own service business and actively seek clients who are able to gratify me for my efforts.

I don't even think I could qualify as an ontra-pen-noor.
Sounds too fancy and I'm not french.

Seems that all the aches and pains I've earned in the trades will one day most likely see me off with the rastafarians, then I'll get REAL creative!

Whew! It was a long day...
Pigeon patrol.

I don't really know what those flying rats eat,
but it seems like they leave their own intestines behind.

They will insure you but you fall into a high risk catagory due to the "construction" classification. The policys are avaliable with different wait periods, and income coverage.

Rich I agree, it would be very brave or maybe unwise not to have insurance being in this business......life, disability and liability.

Slickshift, echo showed nothing, cath was an illimation process.

Sage, in my case, lack of life and disability insurance is just basic foolishness.

I know I'm not bulletproof and able to leap over buildings in a single bound like when I was younger, but all the crazy stuff of past days is just kinda everyday stuff, now... well, almost !

These days I frequently consider my options.

Usually they are

a) Get r' Dun
or
b) Somebody else will get paid to do it.

And I did a ladder trick today...

I can't imagine anyone in this day and time not having life insurance.
A cheap funeral is 6K.....how can the ones left behind deal with that?
Health insurance for two of us is more then most peoples house payments! When the increase came the rates went up, nothing to do but pass it on.
Those who have health ins. included in their pay plan have a lot to be thankful for, yet most don't even realize the value of it.
