I am thinking about switching from alkyd to all acrylics for my new cons. projects. I am not happy with selling a product that yellows within a one year warranty. Its not the white the customer wants or bought then I think I should stop selling it. Nobody has ever said anything, but the more I think about it I might be selling a lesser product. Just lookin for opinions.

Tony,

With the advancement of the waterbornes, this is not a bad choice, IMO.

ALTHOUGH, I still think oil primers penetrate further and grab better onto raw wood fibers than waterbornes.

But I'm no chemist, just a slug in the field.

I charge more for oil
It's an "up-charge"

There will always be the "I'm rich dammit, and if it doesn't needlessly kill baby seals I don't want it
If it kills spotted owls and pipping plovers just by opening the can, then it's for me" crowd
Then there's the fact that it was up to over $750 a 55 to get rid of the old oils/thinner last time I checked
Make them pay for it

The yellowing thing, it's like brushmarks
It's what I'm going for...it's a selling point
If you don't want that, use waterborne
