Yes, your gun should work if the hose is the same size.

My first sprayer was an X7 and I used it with the standard gun it came with.
Now I use it with a Graco contractor gun using FF tips.

Yes the hose and connections are standard size. FYI graco does not recommend these pumps for solvent use... The motors are not enclosed and the pump packings open up to the inside of the motor. Major potential as a fire hazard.

I fired the thing up with my PC Gun, Rac X and 208 FFLP tip on it and at full pressure was still not able to get a good fan pattern free of tails. Maybe it's too weak?

FFLP tips shouldn’t be run at full pressure, they don’t need it, and it goes against its use.

I usually start 1/8 past the prime option on the X7 and adjust from there.
