Okay here is the dealio. I am at a house where I have to paint one ext. door the same color as the body. I do not want to buy a quart just for the door. Has anyone just brushed a clear over the flat coat? Flecto's Diamond finish. The savings is 2 fold because I do not have to buy an $18. quart and I am able to spray the first coat.

So, you are going to put a clear over the flat so you can save $8 bucks? Wouldn't you be spending on the clear? I would be concerned that it would yellow in years to come and would probably do it right the first time.
