Our co. has pretty much given up on exterior ptg as here in the northeast there is so much downtime with weather and other factors that I can no longer find it profitable. I do have to repaint a ranch in the spring for a great old time customer. The problem is there is a lot of mildew on the siding and trim as well as 14 pairs of canvas awnings. I will power wash the house and trim but what about the canvas awnings which are also covered with black mildew. What would be a safe product to use on sewn canvas to remove mildew without bleaching the color or disolving the thread used to sew these beautiful awnings together yet still remove the mildew.
Thanks Den

I really wonder if you have to worry about it. Believe it or not I have sprayed straight uncut bleach on canvas awnings to get rid of the moss and mildew and it didn't bother the fabric and colors one bit. I found this out when I accidently got a part of the awning and figured it was toast but it looks like they are tougher than you would think. Not saying that this is always going to be the case but try it in an inconspicuous place and see.
