Sorry but this is not a pianting question, but you guys have helped me a few times so I figured I would post the question here. I recently had granite counter tops installed and the insaller cut the sink wrong. Instead of replacing the whole peice he used a different peice of granite and peiced it in. Over a span of 10 ln. ft. of counter there are two seems and the peice in the middle where he made the mistake is about 10 shades off and the pattern is more aggresive than the rest of the couter. It looks horrible. I was at work when they finished and my wife gave the installers the final check. When I came home looked at it, was not happy called and the guy hung up on me. I put a stop payment on check. The owner refuses to fix counter. Just recieved notice of lien on property in mail today. Is anyone familiar with contesting a lien. I have never delt with liens on either end before. Sorry for the long winded explaination. Any help would be great

You stated he "cut the sink wrong". You have nothing to worry about. Read your contract, the specs should all be there. What you did is absolutely correct. He needs to correct his mistake b 4 getting paid.

Let your lawyer handle that lien, and you'll get out of that or be able to get reimbursed the amount you already paid him. (If it's worth it)

May be cheaper just to pay him, I know thats not what you wanted to hear.. :(

It might make a big difference how the contract is worded...
He got you marble.
He's going to say it's a natural product and there is variation in it.
Does the contract state 1 piece, or no seams, or ???
Sure hope you can resolve it with the guy...
Small claims is the way to go if not.
