I was looking in the NPE and didnt see anything for pricing the prep, and paint of crown molding.. Can any one shed some light on how you price it, I know it's by the liner foot. And the NPE has been good to me but they dont have anything on crown....:icon_confused:

I actually usually price it as a unit because I do a lot of residential re-paints where I look at it as a unit to be painted within one room. A have a linear ft. price in my QB that I created off a time and material basis a while back. $1.75 per linear ft. This is for prep (filling and sanding nail holes, caulking in) and two coats on pre-primed installed crown. There are still a lot of variables but there's a number for you anyway.

If I Did The 1.75 Liner Foot That Would Be 1300 Seems Alot High, But If I Did The .28 From The Base On The Npe Comes To 219.00 Seems To Low.. I've found the NPE to be very low every time I've consulted it. It can be a decent resource but you are much better off coming up with your own pricing structure. This way you can focus on true numbers that incorporate the realities of certain projects, projects that start from the moment you get a phone call and end the moment you cash the check . . . also just checked another one I use sometimes: Hometech Remodeling and Renovation Cost Estimator, 2005. They have $.18 to sand and fill, $.40 to caulk, and $.53 to paint two coats, so $1.11, includes material (as did my $1.75).
